Eligibility

Please ensure you comply with our Eligibility Requirements. Failure to meet the requirements as listed below will lead to non eligibility. Following application, regardless of eligibility, all visas are non refundable

Requirements

You MUST:
• Not have previously entered Australia on a Working Holiday Visa before.
• Be 18 years - 30 years & 11 months old.
• Have a passport valid at the time of application, issued by one of the following countries: United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Republic of Korea, Sweden, Taiwan
• Not have any dependants (e.g. children) – applicants with children may be eligible, but they cannot be accompanied by dependants at any time during their stay in Australia, and they will need to submit a paper-based application to DIAC.
• Have sufficient funds available for a return ticket and to cover their stay in Australia.
• If you have a one way ticket, you will require AU$5,000 plus additional funds to cover a return ticket. Alternatively, if you have a return ticket, you will require AU$5,000. You may be asked to provide evidence of this in the form of a recent bank statement.
• Have over 6 months validity on your passport after your proposed return date to the UK.

If any of the items above are not met, then unfortunately, you are not eligible for the visa.

Considerations

If you:
• Intend to work in an Australian hospital, school (children under 5) or childcare centre.
• Have any criminal convictions including ones which have been removed from records or have received official police cautions
• Have, in the last 5 years, visited or lived outside your country of residence for more than 3 consecutive months.
• Have had tuberculosis or been in close contact to tuberculosis or have other serious medical issues, such as diabetes, schizophrenia or conditions requiring regular medication.

then extra documents are required e.g. X-rays, court records, proof of employment etc. You will be contacted when these are required. This can delay departure for a month or more and any expense incurred from date changes to booked flights are your responsibility.

If any of the 'Eligibility Requirements' in the 'You must' section are not met, then unfortunately you are not eligible for the visa and any monies paid are non refundable.

Important Information

You will receive your visa application form within 48 hours of payment to the email address you provide at time of booking. Even if all of the above requirements are met, there is still no guarantee that the Working Holiday Visa will be granted as application approval is entirely at the discretion of the Australian Authorities. No refund is due if application for a visa is refused. STA Travel takes no responsibility for travel plans which have to be delayed due to extended processing times.

Processing time

You will receive your application form within 48 hours of payment to the email address you provide at time of booking. Please make sure that your email address is correct. It will take at least 4 weeks to process, and a maximum of 8 weeks if further information is required.

Delays in Processing/ Hindrance to application
If you:
• Intend to work in an Australian hospital, school (children under 5) or childcare centre.

Australian Working Holiday Visa Conditions

The scheme gives Australia Working Holiday Visa holders the right to undertake casual work in order to supplement their travels. Work undertaken must be incidental to the main purpose of holidaying and any employment for more than 6 months with only one employer is not allowed. The application for a first Working Holiday Visa must be made offshore (i.e. not in Australia).

Eligibility

People can obtain an ETA and travel to Australia if:
1) You hold a valid passport approved for an ETA and travel on that passport.
2) Your visit to Australia is for tourism, visiting relatives, business meetings, a convention or conference.
3) You are not staying in Oz for more than 3 months
4) You are in good health
5) You have no criminal convictions
6) You do not intend to work

Conditions

1) These are valid for entry into Australia for up to twelve months from date of issue or expiry date of the passport, whichever is sooner.
2) This is a multiple entry visa.
